The Process of Laser engraving

I have questions on a regular basis about the process of laser engraving. While engraving a job today, I snapped an image of the engraver at work, shooting a beam of light at 600 dpi. The color of the engraved text matches the color of the object. In this case, the laser is burning layers off of a pencil, showing the natural object color. All of our engraved tees and pencils will have a similar text color. Notice that the white pencils have a higher contrast, making the text easier to read.
